This week:

  1. Video Editing: Blender is a hugely powerful open source software suite primarily used for the creation of 3D modeling and animation. Clips can be placed on a timeline, edited for length, overlapped with others, and joined with a range of transitions or fades, just like on any other package.

2. Browser Extension: Facebook follows us around the web—all the better to feed us ads for the bullet journalswe’ve been eyeing on Amazon. Mozilla’s Firefox extension keeps your activities away from the social giant’s prying eyes. There’s just one catch: If you click a “share” button on another page, Zuck’s crew will know !!!

3. Kids Game App: Toca Boca's aims is to introduce kids to the lifecycle of food. Toca Life Series is a digital playset that lets kids pretend they're going on holiday or a farm. The main screen acts as a navigation tool so kids can tap on the place they want to play. Just about everything you can see is interactive: suitcases can be opened, their contents rearranged, milking the cow, feeding the lambs, and harvesting crops.

4. Privacy Software: Virtual private network is what you're looking for if you're concerned about online privacy. NordVPN is intuitive to use, with a handy SmartPlay feature that will help you connect to the server best suited to your needs. It’s available on most devices and easy to install.

5. Cloud Storage: Just like the physical, digital data is vulnerable to damage or loss, something that's often easy to ignore or forget. The concept behind Backblaze is simple; a Cloud-based secure service that keeps a copy of any files you create or store on your computer. What that doesn’t include is the operating system, applications or any temporary data that is created by active apps.
